My Softride was used in triathlons for one season, and man was it FasTT. Then, the beam failed. The carbon slid from the rubber that was holding it. I searched everywhere for a replacement. Ultimately, I ended up on a more reliable, non-Softride bike. -Drew

Here's the poor quality photo I sent to Softride, which shows how the beam "slumped" once the elastomer became unstuck from the carbon (note it is nearly horizontal). Softride described it as "delaminated". -D. M
My rocket was a beauty. Luckily, it was still under warranty when the beam failed. I sold it as soon as the replacement beam came. Great bike to ride. Wish there was a fix, 'cause I really miss it. - Russ
When my frame cracked, Softride replaced it. They said if I had any more trouble, they'd buy back the bike. The new frame took me all the way to Kona, then the beam failed, so Softride should replace the beam, or buy the frame back. Most Softie owners I know bought an extra beam for when theirs fails.

Four beams in six years, and I'm not a heavyweight.
Selling.

Softride, very helpfully, explained that a long bolt was used on many frames, but some FASTT frames had been manufactured incorrectly. Lapping compound was needed in the lower pivot holes. On those frames, a short bolt and machined lower pivots were needed to keep from touching the spacer or beam tongue. Unfortunately, Softride supplied the long bolt in my frame during servicing, when in fact the short bolt was needed. You can see the long bolt with the helicoil bound around it. Of course none of this was documented, nor did it work. The pivot grabbed the tongue and the beam failed. -Damon
